Prosport Roferd Foundation

The Physical Training Center of the Prosport Roferd Foundation, in collaboration with Sports Club Ying Quan-Bucharest, organizes courses of initiation and training for young athletes in martial arts "WUSHU-Kung Fu". This is a Chinese sport with a philosophy, culture and history of its own. It suits anyone who wants to achieve excellent physical condition.  The student will learn training techniques aiming at self-efficience, motivating him or her to develop different skills, confidence in their forces, and develop a strong body and a powerful mind. Young people who are not interested in full-contact fighting can still participate in Wushu training and use it as a resource to develop and improve physical control and cultivate physical and mental strength that will help in different situations in everyday life. Through practicing this style one can gain an intimate knowledge of the interior of the human spirit, and that is a powerful form of education.

Martial arts - this name signifies the various disciplines which involve fighting with bare hands or with various traditional weapons that originated in Asian countries.  They emphasize knowledge of the self and maintaining an optimal state of health. At the same time, each fighting style uses a system of ideas and forms of organization in order to obtain a complex effect of the adjustment and improvement of its dynamics. It may be a code of rhythmic expression and fighting technique, with devastating efficiency and variety, but it  is equally a form of self-identity and a way of maintaining a state of optimal health. Martial arts are based on both biochemical energy sources and the energy captured by the respiratory system and controlled through certain techniques which have a therapeutic role or contribute to the development of certain specific skills by practitioners.

Art - refers to a form of social conscience and as science is a function of knowledge.  But science, unlike art, reflects reality through concrete sensory images or gestures.  Performing such a function and a social and aesthetic education, works of art have an ideological content, which is the emotional element of determining.  By addressing the equally intelligent psyche, the role of creating emotional states begins to possess a form that organizes, expresses and shares that content.

Martial - has its origins in the fact that "Mars” was the Roman God of War. Today, this term designates a solemn and serious condition or attitude depicted by soldiers, warriors, and where the notion of "martial law" implies that a condition is imposed by force.

Martial arts - refers to the fact that thinking is the answer to the action. An action that aims at a perfect control over mind and body through physical activity, which uses language as its own battle technique inspired mostly of nature, imposing a certain emotional state, a certain skill, but also a sharp intellect.  To reflect on the balance of the individual, a person should have a positive moral conduct, while proving a sensitive soul that offers balance between good and bad (Yin-Yang).

WUSHU – “Art of fighting”. It is a general name given to many fighting styles which have developed in different areas in China. Wushu originated more than three thousand years ago, during the Ming and Qing dynasties.  The first official Wushu school was opened in Shanghai in the 1900s.
